About Mike Howard

Mike Howard was raised in Washington, DC and has been a musician since 14 years of age. He started out playing drums & trumpet and then the guitar. He attended Campbell's Conservatory of Music and began professionally at the age of 17. A highlight was performing at the Apollo Theatre at the age of 18 with The Clovers.

His most recognized work was touring & recording with Donny Hathaway, receiving a gold album award for, "Donny Hathaway - Live" with appearances on the Bill
Cosby Show & the Flip Wilson Show. Also working with other legendaries such as Peggy Lee, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, The Dells, Martha Reeves, Esther Philips,
Joey DeFrancesco & Papa John DeFrancesco. He is also on recordings with Peggy Lee (toured & appeared on The Johnny Carson Show), Sammy Cahn, Joey DeFrancesco
& Moe Denham.

Previously residing in Los Angeles, California, Mike has experienced working in a wide range of venues such as working with actors/musicans such Lucille Ball,
Bob Hope, Danny Thomas & Bing Crosby. He has also done commercials, a recording for Burt Reynolds, Evening Shade TV series, and worked on The Hardy Boys TV
series. Mike was in one of the most viewed TV mini-series, "Roots: The Next Generations" in a performance with vocalist/actress Irene Cara.

Mike has resided in Phoenix, Arizona for the past 21 years. Mike writes music and has taught guitar in Washington, DC, California & Arizona. Currently
performing every Sunday at Cross Roads Methodist Church and Sunday Brunch at Bobby C's Restaurant in Phoenix, AZ besides various venues and is working on
original music for future albums/cds.

Recently recovering from chemotherapy & a stem cell transplant from Multiple Myleoma (bone marrow cancer) and Peripheral Vascular Disease, where he is now a
double amputee, Mike will soon become a volunteer/mentor at Healthsouth Re-Hab
Center for amputees and help with fellow Multiple Myeloma patients for support and mentoring.
